The mountain ranges of Mingan and Sierra Madre in the eastern part of Gabaldon are now home of our national treasure-“Gab-e” or the Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi), or the Monkey Eating Eagle. The pair of Monkey Eating Eagle and its juvenile were accidentally discovered by the team of biologists, Barcelona and Pelser, and later verified and confirmed by the team of HARIBON Foundation led by Mr. J. Khalil Panopio also a wild life biologist. The Philippine Eagle is the symbol of our freedom and identity; it is the largest eagle in the world that owns unique identity and characters.
